Today, people need a wide range of skills to succeed in their careers in the modern world of work – not only job-related skills, but also so-called “soft skills”: resilience, problem solving, teamwork, planning, and so on. Adult educators, coaches and career counselors can make a significant contribution to this.

The team of the Career Skills Project has developed an online platform that offers different possibilities including a Career Skills map, a tool for assessing the level of competence and a MOOC for improving career management skills.

The second testing phase of the IO1 Assessment Reference Framework (for HoReCa and horticulture sectors) and the IO2 Guide on Informal Learning Assessment Methods is slowly reaching its end. The testing has been running since May and has been taking place in all partner countries.

In Slovenia, we have already successfully completed the testing. In the end, the testing process was evaluated by the participants, who are not only the users of the Dolfka Boštjančič Training, Work and Care Centre (CUDV Draga) but also the employees of the Druga violina restaurant.

European Commission has taken action to improve lifelong learning and employability by introducing individual learning accounts and micro-credentials. Individual learning accounts ensure access to relevant training opportunities for all people, whereas micro-credentials are used to certify the learning outcomes following a small learning experience. They help people develop the knowledge, skills, and competences they need for their personal and professional development.
